COLLEAGUES and customers at a Midsomer Norton opticians have joined international efforts to raise funds for the victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake.
Donations have been rolling into Specsavers stores in Midsomer Norton and Bath, making a total of £254, including a contribution from the stores.
The money raised will be going to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), an organisation that helps charities to provide vital medical care, emergency shelter, food and clean water to victims of the earthquake.
“We wanted to show our support for the worldwide fundraising effort to help the people caught up in the awful events of the past few weeks,” said store director at Specsavers Bath and Midsomer Norton, Phil Lodge.
“As with our previous fundraising events, we have found our communities to be very supportive of our efforts and it was no different on this occasion.
“We would like to say thank you to everyone who generously donated this time as well.”
