OYSTER Care Homes has announced the appointment of Lauren Dinham and Emma Curtain at Somer Valley House care home in Midsomer Norton ahead of its opening in October.

Somer Valley House aims to provide high-quality, person-centred care in a welcoming environment. The team, led by Lauren with support from Emma, is dedicated to ensuring residents receive excellent care and comfort.

They look forward to opening and becoming part of the Midsomer Norton community. Together, Lauren, Emma, and the team will play key roles in creating a place where residents thrive and families feel secure.

Lauren Dinham has been appointed as the new general manager, recognised for her experience in care home management and dedication to elderly care. Her leadership is expected to make Somer Valley House stand out in the community.

Emma joins Lauren as the front of house manager. With her organisational skills and warm demeanour, Emma aims to ensure all residents and visitors feel welcomed at Somer Valley House. Her dedication to creating a supportive environment aligns with Oyster Care Homes’ mission.

Lauren Dinham said: “I am so looking forward to being involved in commissioning a home as General Manager, having already been part of this process twice. I love seeing a home grow, building a team, and most importantly, welcoming residents and enhancing their quality of life.”

Emma Curtain said: “I am passionate about doing the absolute best for our future residents, their families, and the entire Somer Valley and Oyster Care Home teams. As a lifelong resident of Midsomer Norton, I am thrilled to be part of the Somer Valley House adventure from the very beginning.”

Opening in October 2024, Somer Valley House is a 66-bed care home designed with sustainability in mind. It features solar panels, energy storage batteries, and ground-source heating, supporting Oyster Care Homes' goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

Somer Valley House is expected to create over 100 jobs, significantly boosting the local economy.
