Police and Crime Commissioner Clare Moody and officers from local neighbourhood policing teams will be hosting a series of forums across the Avon and Somerset force area.
Six forums will be held throughout the district to hear the views of the public. The Avon and Somerset Police Police and Crime Commissioner hopes local people can influence the future of policing.
The second forum is happening in Bath and North East Somerset.
One of PCC Clare’s key responsibilities is to develop a Police and Crime Plan – a strategy for policing across all areas in Avon and Somerset.
Clare has created the draft plan, based on the demand issues for Avon and Somerset Police and what people told her their priorities are, while she was campaigning on the doorstep and talking to local people in the run up to her election in May.
Clare is now asking the public in each of the five local authority areas for ideas on how the police, communities and partners can work together to deliver against her Police and Crime Plan draft priorities.
The forums are part of a wider public consultation, which launched on August 12. The consultation also includes a survey to allow those who are unable to attend to share their ideas and suggestions.
The forum provides an opportunity to:
- Help shape how policing is delivered in your area
- Share your ideas on what would work in your community
- Find out more about the consultation on your council tax and police funding
PCC Clare Moody says: “Sign up today and be a part of shaping a safer, more effective policing strategy for Bath and North East Somerset.”
The forum session will take place on Tuesday August 20 at The Hub, Mulberry Way, Mulberry Park, Combe Down, Bath, BA2 5BU. The discussion will take place from 6pm – 7.30pm. Presentations will take part from 6:10 - 6:35pm, an open discussion will be held thereafter.
