A new social enterprise based in Peasedown St John is helping local businesses and charities ‘bounce back’ through the pandemic.
Somerset Face Masks was established last month to ensure that every single resident, business, school and charity in Bath & North East Somerset could purchase face masks at an affordable rate.
Its community partnership scheme has been a big hit with almost 1,000 face masks distributed already!
Nathan Hartley, Founder of Somerset Face Masks, said: “With society, and the way we interact with each other, changing radically, wearing face masks in public is now part of the ‘new norm’.
Over the next month, many businesses and charities are going to struggle to get back onto their feet due to the extortionate costs of PPE equipment that large corporations are charging. The expectation to purchase such equipment has been set by the government – with little help of how organisations are going to pay for it!
As a social enterprise, we have minimal costs and so have been able to sell high quality, reusable, washable and comfortable masks for just £2.50 each. We also have a high return rate of customers too, who continually want to purchase more for their friends and family!”
After the success of the first month, Somerset Face Masks is now offering a 20% discount to businesses and charities in B&NES who are about to open their doors back up to the public. The Peasedown-based organisation provides free delivery.
