Eighteen months of lobbying paid off recently, with a new bus shelter being erected in Ashgrove, Peasedown St John.
Local councillors, Karen Walker and Sarah Bevan (Independent), had been asking B&NES Council since the summer of 2016 for a replacement shelter, after the previous one was damaged following a road traffic accident.
Karen and Sarah said: “We’re grateful to the staff in the public transport department at the council for keeping their word on this. It took some time, but after almost a year-and-a-half, this replacement bus shelter was erected.
“The main road through Peasedown St John is on one of the busiest bus routes in the area, so it’s important that our residents have the very best services and facilities when travelling.”
