Organisers of Peasedown’s popular Party in the Park festival have announced a special 30 per cent discount for local charities keen to showcase their work and run a stall at this year’s event.

Now in its 16th year, the village’s community festival is one of the biggest in the district with more than 2,500 people attending the one-day extravaganza.

Organised by Peasedown’s B&NES Councillors, Karen Walker and Gavin Heathcote, festival revellers are expected to enjoy more than hours of live music and a vast array of stall holders and attractions.

This year’s Peasedown Party in the Park festival will take place on Saturday, June 14, from 11.30am to 7pm at Beacon Field. The event will feature a range of activities, including entertainment and community stalls, providing an opportunity for residents and visitors to engage with organisations, businesses, and charities.

Cllr Karen Walker (Independent), bookings manager and one of the festival’s founders, said: “The charity sector has been hit particularly hard over the last couple of years with rising costs and budget cuts – despite the invaluable services many of them provide.

“To show our support and appreciation for the hundreds of fantastic local charities in Bath and North East Somerset, we’re offering all registered charities a discount of almost 30per cent if they’d like to book a stall at this year’s festival.”

Local charities have the opportunity to book a standard 2m x 2m stall space at a reduced rate. Instead of the usual £35 fee, charities can secure a space for just £25, providing a more affordable way for organisations to promote their work and engage with the community.

Further details will be announced in the coming months, but the event is set to feature live music and entertainment, the presentation of the Peasedown St John Community Civic Award and the sixth annual Peasedown Dog Show, along with a variety of other activities.

Fellow Peasedown councillor and festival organiser, Cllr Gavin Heathcote (Independent), said: “We’ve been overwhelmed with positive feedback following last year’s festival. All those that came really enjoyed themselves and said they looked forward to the festival every year.

“I’d encourage anyone who wants to run a stall to get in touch. Bookings officially opened in January and we’re already receiving a lot of interest.

“One of our key aims every year is to build community spirit and bring people together. Party in the Park is now the most important event in the local calendar.”

Local charities interested in running a stall can contact Councillor Karen Walker to make a booking. Enquiries can be made by calling 07968 401447, emailing [email protected], or writing to Party in the Park Bookings, 18 Wellow Mead, Peasedown St John, Bath, BA2 8SB.

To qualify for the 30 per cent discount, charities must provide their Registered Charity Number at the time of booking.
