A PETITION against the development of a new housing estate in Timsbury has been signed by more than 450 people.
Land promoter Waddeton Park wrote to residents on January 2 to inform them the firm had acquired a parcel of land, south of Hayeswood Road, and that it was in the early stages of bringing forward proposals to develop the site.
This site would see up to 120 homes being built, with 40 per cent being classed as affordable housing, if proposals are approved.
The petition was set up on January 6. It argues that development would mean the loss of a heritage site, that it would bring significant pressure on existing services, and that other locations were already approved under the Local Plan.
