The Tea Tables had a quiz to challenge people and a keepsake book, Catherine Butcher’s, ‘Our faithful Queen, seventy years of faith and Service’ for them to take home.

Members of the Town Council supported the event which was presided over by the Minister, Rev Stephen Robinson, who invited the Mayor Lynda Robertson to cut the celebration cake made for the occasion.

The service, which followed, was led by Rev Stephen Robinson, with other members of Churches Together taking part with prayers and readings.

It all made a good ending to the weekend’s celebrations. Kathy Dymond
