David Warburton has been formally adopted as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Somerton and Frome.
David was elected Member of Parliament for Somerton and Frome in May 2015, winning the seat from the Lib Dems with the largest swing in England, Wales or Northern Ireland (18%), more than half of all votes and a 20,000 majority.
David said: “It’s been a huge honour and a privilege to serve as Member of Parliament in this fabulous constituency for the past two years and I’m delighted that local Conservative members have put their trust in me to represent us again at the general election this year.
“A great deal has been achieved in the past two years – the A303 funding is ring-fenced and work is underway, train services to Somerset have been boosted and my plans for a new station are on the drawing board, a massive programme of infrastructure investment is taking place, but there’s so much more to do. I very much hope that from June 8th I’m in a position to continue to support the exciting growth and successes of our area.
“I’m looking forward to campaigning on the issues and policies that matter and can make life better in our rural towns and villages and it’s great to get back on the doorstep!”
