The Poppy wreath is back up, and this time – with help from the Westfield fire crew – it is up higher than ever.

The service was attended by the new Mayor of Radstock, Keith Tyrrell, along with his deputy, Rupert Bevan. Cllr Eleanor Jackson (Labour, Westfield) also attended.

When the wreath was up, we held a minute’s silence, before Rupert read out a remembrance poem. It will be up for two weeks, untik the Christmas lights go up.

I am so grateful to all the members of the knitting group for all they do to make the group what it is. Also thank you to the fire crew for putting the wreath up, and the Mayor, his deputy and Cllr Jackson for their help and support. Rupert helped by carrying the wreath from the church to the miners wheel. We have the bunting to go up around the tree again too.
