Somerset Prostate Support Association have been working with Somerset Lions Clubs for a number of years in facilitating Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) Testing events for men over the age of forty five to detect possible cancer issues in their prostate.

On Saturday, 10th September 2022 at the Methodist Hall, Midsomer Norton from 10am to 2pm, Somerset Prostate Support Association, working with Radstock & Midsomer Norton Lions Club, will be facilitating a Prostate Specific Antigen ( PSA ) Testing event.

The test entails taking a simple blood sample from the lower arm by a trained phlebotomist. After analysis, each man receives the results within five days with information on the action, if any, to take next.

In 2022, nearly five hundred men attended SPSA organised events; of those, twenty eight have gone on for further investigation.

There is no charge for having this test, but you have to book your appointment online at: spsa.mypsatests.org.uk as there is no ‘drop in’ facility.
