Funding is being made available to community groups in Peasedown St John who are organising events to celebrate the coronation of HM King Charles III in May.
The Peasedown Community Trust, which oversees a number of projects locally, is making funding available for community organisers to apply for.
Trust Chairman, Gavin Heathcote, said: “The coronation of a British Monarch is a rare occasion. This is the first such event in seventy years.
“The Peasedown Community Trust is allocating £500 for community groups to apply for.”
To meet the criteria, groups/applicants must:
- Be based in Peasedown St John
- Have a bank account in the name of the organisation that is making the application
- Be organising an event in Peasedown St John to mark/celebrate HM The King’s Coronation.
- Show evidence that the funding will be used to primarily benefit people living in Peasedown St John
Cllr Karen Walker (Independent, Peasedown) added: “We’re particularly keen to hear from smaller community groups who may struggle to secure funding from elsewhere.
“Are you organising a street party or coordinating something big for the Bank Holiday weekend in May? If so, we’d love to hear from you!”
