We are delighted to be able to finally announce that the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant Cart, which took part in the London parade to celebrate her 70th year as our Monarch, is attending this year’s Midsomer Norton Illuminated Carnival on Monday, 14th November.
After what will have been three years since our last carnival the association are extremely excited and grateful that this spectacular entry will be helping to mark the re-starting of our illuminated carnival parade.
The association took the decision to delay the announcement until now following final discussions with Griffen’s Carnival Club from Bridgwater who are kindly bringing the cart to Midsomer Norton and in respect of the recent passing of the late Queen.
With preparations well underway for this year’s event the opportunity to see the Pageant cart in person is certainly going to literally light up this year’s parade and allow us to once again celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s truly remarkable reign.
Organising this year’s event is, as expected proving to present a few challenges especially with many of our costs increasing sharply with inflation and while we also appreciate many people are finding the current economic environment hard, we would be very grateful for any help that the public may be able to provide our charitable association (registered charity 1078139).
We’re also still looking to support other charitable and good causes with collecting opportunities and of course, we’d be massively grateful if anyone wants to volunteer to help make the magic of carnival happen.
