MEMBERS of the Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club gathered to mark their annual handover ceremony, where outgoing President Rob Jamieson passed the baton to incoming President Lyn Haile.
The Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club held their annual handover at the Centurion Hotel. Outgoing President Rob Jamieson passed the chain to new President Lyn Haile, who praised Rob for increasing club membership. She presented him with a Lion pin to recognise his efforts.
Rob has also been the club’s Treasurer for the last four years and will continue this year for the club. The handover ceremony was attended by fellow Lions and their loved ones and friends from other Lions clubs.
The club has several upcoming events including the annual fundraising Duck Race, which will take place on Saturday, September 7, on Midsomer Norton High Street. Numbered ducks can be purchased for £1 each before the race and on the day of the event.
In October the Lions are busy arranging prostate screening for local men to have a free test. This is the second round of tests sponsored by the club due to the first event being such a success.
