What a momentous week we’ve witnessed, a new Prime Minister, the death of our Queen and the accession of a King!
On a special memorial News Sheet, produced for the occasion and available at the church there are pictures of Queen Elizabeth and King Charles and some thoughts and prayers.
“Thank you, God, for the life of Queen Elizabeth; for her long reign, her wisdom, her devotion to duty and for her strong Christian faith. Let us praise God that we have witnessed the life of this remarkable lady and servant of God.
“We also pray for King Charles and his Queen Consort Camilla. May Charles uphold the values of his mother. May he be given energy to fulfil the tasks before him, and times of rest. He’s beginning his post when most men would be retiring. We pray that he may lead this nation with integrity, wisdom and faith in God. May the faith of Charles and Camilla become deeper and more precious to them daily as they lead this nation.”
