On the 13th June, two hundred children from schools across Somerset will join in Wells Cathedral for a musical adventure in space!
On the 13th June children from primary schools across Somerset will perform ‘Stardust’ in the magnificent setting of Wells cathedral, supported by Bristol Ensemble and instrumentalists and soloists from Wells Cathedral School, conducted by Pete Harrison, and narrated by BBC Radio 4’s John Telfer (The Archers).
Performed by 200 children in Wells’ magnificent cathedral, the concert will take the audience on a journey through space, visiting planets which each represent an emotion. The children have adventures on the unsure, worried, fear, sad and angry planets before overcoming their fears to reach the legendary planet Zarg! The concert will be attended by dignitaries including Jane Sedgman Deputy Lieutenant of Somerset, Robert Drewitt High Sheriff of Somerset, The Right Worshipful Mayor of Wells Cllr Tanys Pullin and The Mayor of Glastonbury.
Children from four Somerset primary schools ‘Cameley’, ‘St. John’s CofE, Keynsham’, ‘Longvernal, Radstock’ and ‘West Pennard’ will be joined by instrumentalists and soloists from Wells Cathedral School along with Voices for Life’s own choir from Bath.
