Jason Preston, who recently spoke to The Journal previous to the walk, said: “We were raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of Marie Preston, my mother, who sadly passed away from the disease.

“Thank you to everyone who turned up on the day and to all the great people who made kind donations before and after the walk, and to so many on the day.

“We managed to raise £1,025, we were delighted with the amount, so a big thank you to everyone involved on the day.”
