Radstock’s Community Hub was officially opened last Wednesday – which not only houses the Town’s library, but the Town Council, too. Together, they hope that the library can be kept open for all to enjoy, and the Town Council can be more accessible for the community it serves.
The Community Hub will now be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Opening hours may hopefully be extended if more volunteers come forward! Please call in and find out more if you can give a little of your time.
The ceremony was attended by community groups and dignitaries, including B&NES Chair, Eleanor Jackson, WECA Metro Mayor, Tim Bowles, Leader of B&NES Council, Dine Romero, and Mayor of Radstock, Rupert Bevan, pictured left. Children were able to take part in activities at the Hub, including a story web, which eight-year-old Ella, from Writhlington, is seen weaving above. Tim Bowles told The Journal: “It was great to attend the opening of this new community hub and library. It’s good to see our region’s communities working together, creating spaces which will be enjoyed by our residents. Having taken a good look around, I am sure that this library and hub will be a real asset for Radstock and the surrounding villages.”
