Rosemary Blatchford has generously hosted a “Ladies who Lunch” party in her Midsomer Norton garden over the past 10 years.

Rosemary spends countless hours creating dozens of quiches, salmon platters, salads and an array of wonderful desserts. She also funds the bulk of the terrific raffle prizes which she gathers throughout the year. Every penny raised is donated to the Royal United Hospital Breast Care Unit in Bath.

A total of 150 ladies attended the garden party on June 25 and raised an amazing £6,000. Rosemary has now raised £44,000 over ten years, which also includes her homemade marmalade sales. Mr Richard Sutton, a consultant breast surgeon from the RUH, was in attendance to personally thank Rosemary for her tireless efforts.

Debby Huxham, president elect for the Rotary Club of Midsomer Norton & Radstock was also in attendance and surprised Rosemary with the highest form of recognition a Rotary Club can bestow, the Paul Harris Fellow Award, presented to those who’ve made an outstanding contribution to the community.

Rosemary has also volunteered with the Midsomer Norton Community Trust since it began in 2013, been on the organising committee for the Town Fayre (running the Town Show), and overall has been very much involved in the community.
