Somer Valley residents are invited to meet with Bath and North East Somerset council at the next round of area forums.

Events like area forums are part of the council’s connecting communities programme, which brings together residents and community organisations with public services to discuss topics of interest and help address areas of concern.

In Bath there are regular drop-in community conversations sessions at community venues in residential areas of the city, where people can meet with the council’s corporate engagement team.

The area forum sessions will be joined by partners of Bath and North East Somerset council (B&NES), which may include the police, fire service, Curo and health & wellbeing services. Ward councillors may also be in attendance.

Area Forums for Chew Valley, Bathavon, Somer Valley and Keynsham will take place later this month. These meetings are open to residents and involve public services, local ward and parish councillors and community groups.

The Bathavon, Chew Valley and Somer Valley meetings will feature Somer Valley Links along with other topics of interest. More details can be obtained by contacting B&NES’ corporate engagement team at [email protected].

Council leader Kevin Guy (Liberal Democrats, Bathavon North) said: “The community conversations and area forums help us and our partners understand what matters to you, get your views and work in partnership to improve people’s lives.

By talking through the topics that matter most to local people, we can develop a shared understanding and work together to address the challenges in our community. Please join us and give us your feedback.”

Details of area forums in the rest of the B&NES area and joining instructions can be found on the council’s website.
