Drivers in and around North Somerset will have 13 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm January 15 to 6am February 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 20 lane closures for barrier upgrade.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 8pm February 7 to 6am February 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 20 lane closures for barrier repair.

M5, from 9pm February 7 to 6am February 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 exit slip road - lane closure for drainage works.

M5, from 9pm February 7 to 6am February 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 to 21 - lane closures for road markings renewal.

M5, from 9pm February 7 to 6am February 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 exit and entry slip road closure for road markings renewal, diversion for exit slip road via M5 southbound, exit jct 21, turn to join M5 northbound to junction 20, diversion for entry slip road via M5 northbound, exit, junction 19, turn to join M5 southbound.

M5, from 10pm February 10 to 6am February 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 20 to 22 - lane closures for road markings renewal.

A4, from 10pm February 17 to 6am February 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 exit and entry slip road closures for road markings renewal, diversion for exit slip road via M5 southbound, exit, junction 20, turn to join M5 northbound to junction 19, diversion for entry slip road via M5 northbound, exit, junction 18, turn at Portway roundabout, join M5 southbound.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
