EAT, drink and be scary will be the theme of a Halloween event coming up in Midsomer Norton next month.
As the spooky season approaches, several events - catering for families, children and adults - are all scheduled for the town and surrounding area in the build up to October 31.
Midsomer Norton Rugby Football Club will be hosting Rocky’s Halloween Bingo Party on Friday, October 18, with the club opening in time for its happy hour from 6pm until 7pm, before the fun and games start at 7.30pm.
The event will include bingo, games, a music quiz, and more, followed by a disco. Entry costs £10 per person, which covers a garland, access to the photobooth, buffet, and a unique number for the evening. This adults-only event will also feature a raffle.
The fun is also set to continue at Mardons Community Club, Mardons Close, Nightingale Way, when the venue host a Halloween fancy dress party on Saturday, October 26, from 9pm. The evening will feature a live performance by Jimmy And The Judges. While fancy dress is optional, attendees are encouraged to join in the Halloween spirit. The event is open to all and entry is free.
On Sunday, October 27, the Centurion Hotel, in Charlton Lane, will host a firework Halloween party from 6.30pm to 11.30pm. Rockets and other pyrotechnics will light up the night sky, adding an extra touch of excitement to the Halloween celebrations.
And families are being reminded that the Somerset and Dorset Railway Heritage Trust, located at Silver Street, will host what are expected to be extremely popular Halloween Train rides which will take place on October 27.
Children aged 16 and under who are dressed in Halloween costumes will travel free of charge.
The event will follow the standard timetable with train departures at 10.30am 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Various Halloween-themed activities will be available, and the shop and buffet will operate from 10am to 3.30pm.
It is recommended to book tickets in advance, although tickets will also be available for purchase on the day. Adult tickets are priced at £10 and children aged 4 to 16 can travel for £5.
Children in Halloween costumes travel free, while those aged 3 and under also ride for free and are encouraged to wear costumes as well.
