Members of the Royal College of Nursing are striking for the second day today, Tuesday 7th February, including those in the RUH Bath as they demand fair pay and improvements to patient safety.

RUH staff who are members of the Royal College of Nursing will be striking for the duration of the usual day shift, no matter what time, with a picket line in place from 7:30am-4pm at: Royal United Hospital Bath, Combe Park, Bath BA1 3NG

With a membership network of over 465,000 nurses, midwives, health care assistants and nursing students, Royal College of Nursing announced strikes for all nine regions, saying: 'For the first time in history, tens of thousands of our members took part in strikes in December 2022 to demand fair pay and improved patient safety.

'As the Westminster government has failed to act, we have been forced to escalate our strike action. In England, our members will strike again on Monday, 6th February and Tuesday, 7th February.'

The RCN Wales strikes planned for 6th and 7th February were cancelled following an additional pay offer for 2022/23 from the Welsh government. The offer is for an additional 3%, half of which will be carried over into future pay awards.
