The annual Seedy Saturday event in Timsbury brought together gardening enthusiasts for a day of seed swapping, expert talks, and community activities.

The 15th Seedy Saturday, a much-loved local event dedicated to gardening, growing, and community activities, brought together keen gardeners at Timsbury Conygre Hall on March 8.

Attendees returned on their annual pilgrimage to the seed swap, taking the opportunity to speak with stallholders and expert growers.

A wide range of gardening supplies, seeds, potatoes, and plants—including heritage and organic varieties—were available from Pennard Plants and Beans and Herbs, alongside local produce, equipment, crafts, and gifts.

Community displays and expert talks gave visitors a chance to find out about local initiatives, including the Lower Chew Forest from Avon Needs Trees, garden medicinal herbs from Malago Medicinals, the local food-growing project Grow Timsbury, plus ways to get involved with Rockaway Park’s Community Forest Garden.

Sam Ross, event organiser said, “It was a joy to catch up once again with return visitors and to welcome newcomers to our local event bringing seeds to swap for the first time. With even more stallholders than ever before, there were also plenty of seeds, plants, local produce and amazing craft items to be purchased, plus two fantastic talks and expert advice.

“I would like to thank all the volunteers and stallholders who continue to make it so successful, plus the generous support from our sponsors and ongoing interest from the local community. We hope that Seedy Saturday will see more seed savers attend next year’s event to be held on Saturday 14 March 2026 at Timsbury Conygre Hall.”
