Seats have been pulled up and thrown in the pond, no mean feat when attached to a heavy lump of concrete, bridges kicked down, this has happened twice damaging a previously mended bridge from earlier vandalism, and most distressing, a mature Oak tree in the meadow has had the bark cut off on several branches, some quite a height from the ground.
We have long given up trying to understand why this is happening and who is responsible, the local police and Town Trust have been most supportive, we just want it to stop so we can all enjoy the Reserve in all it’s Spring glory.
We are very grateful to our volunteers who never seem daunted and work hard to mend the damage done by mindless individuals, although it is very upsetting to see a mature Oak tree desecrated in this way.
Perhaps if you see anything out of place when out walking you could take a photo and send a report to the Town Trust on: 07873 232437 or the local police on: 101. Lucy Edwards
