Plans to build five homes in Radstock are set to move to the next phase.
Outline planning permission, which establishes the principle of development in the location, had been granted by Bath and North East Somerset Council in 2021, but now developer Mr Robinson of SR Catchers Ltd has submitted a reserved matters application to decide the final details of the development so work can start.
The site on Coombend (37 Coombend, Radstock, Bath And North East Somerset, BA3 3AN) is currently used by a poultry transportation business but they say that since homes were built across the road, it is no longer an appropriate location for their business, which involved lorries accessing the site at all hours of the day.
A design and access statement submitted with the application stated: “The applicant has therefore now purchased land elsewhere in the local area with the intention of relocating the business to a more suitable site should the reserved matters permission be granted.”
In its place, Mr Robinson is proposing a “small residential development” with four two-bedroom semi-detached family homes to be built near the road and a large two-bedroom self-build home, set back from the road behind other buildings.
