When we had to quickly shut everything down and lock up the office in March, we had no idea that we would be gone for so long, nor how the world would change.
?Thankfully, we are returning to serve our local community and bring back your newspaper - and we can’t wait to get started.
We’ve been incredibly touched by your kind messages and thank you all for your understanding and support. We are sorry that we have been unable to respond as the team are furloughed until August 24, but we will get back to messages as soon as we return.
?To ensure your newspaper continues into the future we need your help more than ever before.
We’ll be contacting all of our advertisers and regular contributors when we go back to the office on Monday, August 24. We’ll begin printing in September, as we have a lot to catch up on.
?If you are a local business, please talk to us - find out how our publication works - we can come up with advertising for you that really works and within budget. As we are a free newspaper, we can only cover our costs through you. Without local advertisers, there’s no community paper.
?Please spread the word, tell others we are returning, email us with all of your advertising needs and local stories: [email protected] and we’ll be back in touch. We’d also love to hear about any of our local heroes that have gone above and beyond during the pandemic so that we can fill the paper with some positivity.
And if you’ve missed us, drop us a line or leave a comment - it’ll give the team a boost!
*Since lockdown, we are aware that Fosseway Press Radstock Ltd have launched a monthly publication. To avoid confusion - we are two separate companies and neither is currently linked to the other, although The Journal was founded by the late Steve Shipley at the premises on Waterloo Road in 1980. The Midsomer Norton & Radstock Journal was sold to Tindle Newspapers many years ago. We do, however, wish them well with this new endeavour.
