The villagers of Timsbury may well have been surprised to hear loud, rousing hymns sung with gusto coming from Tabor Independent Methodist Church on Sunday.
The congregation were in for a treat when Mrs Carol Maundrill presided over a sing-a-long of old, well known hymns. She chose various composers from the 1800’s, giving a short account of their lives and how it came about they composed hymns of that period, but still well loved and sang today.
One hymn, in particular, Tell me the Old Old Story, brought memories of our Sunday School days. Mrs Maundrill was congratulated on her Service with a round of applause and requests for a similar service in the not too distant future. Mrs Shute served welcome teas/coffees to round off the morning.
