Tesco in Paulton celebrated 25 years of trading last Thursday, 5th November.
Looking back at The Journal archives, two employees opened the store, checkout assistant, Angela Heal, from Westfield, and Martin Drayton, from Midsomer Norton, who worked at the petrol station, a pupil at Norton Hill School who had turned eighteen that week. The Store Manager then was Stephen Keates and the first customers were Mr and Mrs Rowley, from Peasedown St John.
Beckie Eschle, Community Champion at the local store said: “We are at the heart of the community, not just as a shop, but a lifeline for our fantastic customers, family and friends. Our work colleagues feel that we are one big family.”
