The Coronation Champions Awards, launched by Royal Voluntary Service and supported by Her Majesty The Queen Consort, is all about celebrating the work of extraordinary volunteers across the UK.
A total of five hundred volunteers have been selected as Coronation Champions and will receive an official Coronation Champions pin badge, a signed certificate from Their Majesties, and an invite to one of the Coronation Celebrations, such as the Windsor Castle Coronation Concert or a Coronation Garden Party.
Stowey Sutton Parish Council Newsletter recognised the outstanding work one Bishop Sutton resident has done as they were selected as one of the five hundred official Coronation Champions: “I think you will all agree that we have a very generous smattering of fabulous volunteers in our community. Many of the activities in our area would not be possible without these wonderful people.
“The Coronation Champions Awards invited people across the UK to nominate their local volunteering heroes who are going the extra mile. Nominations were made across eight award categories; supporting older people; supporting young people and children; crisis and welfare; community; sports, culture, and heritage; health and care; sustainability and the environment; and animal welfare.
“One Bishop Sutton resident was nominated by a library user for the continual positive hard work she undertakes in the Chew Valley and particularly at Chew Valley Library.
“We are thrilled that our volunteer Liz Kingston has been selected as one of the five hundred official Coronation Champions.
“Liz believes nothing would be possible, and she would not have been recognised, without the work of the fabulous team around her. So a big thank you must also go to Team Chew Valley Library, as well as Liz.
“Congratulations Liz and we hope you enjoy your celebrations.”
