Local U3A Group The Singing Guitars recently held a concert to raise money for the ‘Salvation Army Christmas appeal for the homeless’. This was held at the British Legion Hall in Coleford on Saturday 9th December and was very well attended.
Charmain Gay, Group Leader, was pleased to present a cheque for £435 to Major Sheila Westlake in the Shepton Mallet office which was the amount raised on this occasion for a very worthwhile charity. Charmain said, “We were very grateful to everyone who came along to support this event and enjoy an afternoon of music and a Christmas sing-song”.
The Singing Guitars perform concerts throughout the year to raise money for various charities. This year, as well as supporting The Salvation Army, The Singing Guitars are donating £200 to their U3A Chairman’s charity, which is Dorothy House Hospice, for all the hard work they do caring for our loved ones.
If you have an event or forthcoming celebration and would like some entertainment, please contact the Group Leader, Charmain Gay, on 07890 051169 or 01761 232785.
