With lockdown restrictions being eased further, Peasedown St John’s new Hive Community Centre is now open for bookings.
In line with government guidelines, the new thriving hub of the village is now welcoming community groups and organisations through its doors.
Joy Fraser, Chair of the Hive Management Committee, said: “There is so much going on at the Hive. In the building, all under one roof, you’ll find the village Post Office, Community Library and SWALLOW Café.
“And now, as of May 17th, all of our rooms and facilities are open for the public to use.”
Managers at The Hive made the most of the recent lockdown by decorating, renovating and installing new facilities in the building and the refurbishment will continue over the coming months.
Available for public use is: the art room, ideal for individuals, art lessons and other creative activities: the sports hall for badminton, basketball, exercise, fitness and dance classes: the outdoor sports court for walking football, training etc. and the brand-new Acacia Room – a multipurpose conference and meeting space for workshops and private hire, and an ideal space for children’s parties.
“We really do have something for everyone, and our hire rates are very reasonable”, added Joy, “The centre has a free car park at the front and wheelchair friendly access.”
