A TIMSBURY woman has been formally recognised by the local Royal British Legion Branch for her 21 years of dedicated volunteering and support for the Poppy Appeal.
Diane Bullock has dedicated 21 years to supporting the Poppy Appeal, starting her efforts in Farnborough, where she spent 15 years collecting, before continuing her work in Timsbury for the past six years.
Over the years, she has become a familiar face in the local community, building connections as she went door-to-door to collect donations.
Diane said that she particularly enjoyed these visits, especially when residents opened the door with a warm welcome.
She said: "We’ve been waiting for you with all our small change." This often took some time to put in the tin, allowing Diane the opportunity to have a chat.
She was presented with a framed certificate by Branch Chairman Barry Sewell and a bouquet of flowers by Chris Fiddes, who retired this year as Poppy Appeal Organiser and handed over the role to Chris Jopling.
