Last week’s Mystery Photograph showed a horse and carriage at the rear of the Waldegrave Arms in Radstock.
We really liked this photograph, kindly sent in by the lovely Radstock Museum.
Thank you to everyone who sent in their guesses but a special well done goes to Martin Horler, who said: “Just picked up this week’s Journal and the Mystery Photograph is ‘right up my street’.
‘The photo is Mattick’s Yard which was behind the Waldegrave Arms in Radstock, now the Radstock Hotel. The carriage is a Canoe Landau, I can even tell you the names of the horses, they were Duke and Duchess. I don’t know the name of the coachman but we can see he was just about to provide the carriage for a wedding, I know this because he has a ribbon bow on his whip.”
Do you know where we are in this week’s Mystery Photograph? Perhaps you recognise someone or something in the photograph. We would love to hear from you!
