TWO people had a miracle escape after a car crashed over a cliff in Somerset.

The pair were rescued after the vehicle accidentally drove over the edge of Ladye Bay in Clevedon in Somerset on Monday (June 10).

Clevedon Firefighters said: “Just after 3:30pm crews from Clevedon, Portishead Firefighters, Southmead and Temple stations were responded to reports of a car which had accidentally driven over the edge of Ladye Bay.

''Crews working alongside South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust Hazardous Area Response Team and Clevedon Coastguard Rescue Team secured the vehicle before rescuing two people from the vehicle who were conveyed to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.''
