Jim Everett is a man with a mission. On Sunday, 8th October, Jim is taking a special walk from Nempnett Thrubwell Church to Wells Cathedral along the Monarchs Way. His goal? To raise funds and support for the Motor Neuron Disease Association.
The incredible stories of Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2019, and Kevin Sinfield, his former rugby team mate at Leeds, who have both shown strength and determination to raise money and awareness for MND, inspired Jim to do something to help.
This isn’t Jim’s first fundraiser walk. Last year, he walked between five Churches in the Chew Valley area to raise money for them, but this time around, he’s dedicating his time and efforts to charity.
Starting at 10am, he’ll be taking a route along the Monarchs Way for his mission.
He hopes to arrive at his destination of Wells Cathedral in time for evensong at 3pm. The cathedral itself stands for strength and community, echoing the values behind Jim’s cause.
Jim is inviting anyone who’s interested to join him on this journey. It’s not just about walking – it’s about coming together to support a meaningful cause. Every step counts, and every person who walks alongside Jim adds to the collective message of support for the MNDA.
Jim is raising money for the cause via a JustGiving page, which can be found at: https://www.justgiving.com/page/james-everett-1689079803845
