Thousands of young people across Bath and North East Somerset will find out their A-level results today (August 17th).
Bath & North East Somerset Council is praising the students for their hard work and reminding them of the support available for the next stage in their education, training or employment.
This is the first year since 2019 that standard assessments have taken place after teacher-assessed grades replaced exams during the Covid pandemic.
Councillor Paul May, cabinet member for Children’s Services, said: “Well done to all the young people across the district who are collecting their exam results today. Receiving these results can bring a mix of emotions as you consider the next chapter in your lives – but whatever the outcome, there are options available to you.
“There is an excellent range of support and advice you can access to guide you through your next steps, which could include apprenticeships, employment, work experience and higher education opportunities.”
The National Careers Service runs a Get Help with Exam Results service. Support is available on the National Careers Service website and students can chat to a careers adviser over the phone or by webchat. The exam results helpline (0800 100 900) is open from Thursday 17th August until Friday 1st September 2023, from 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 5pm Saturday.
If students don’t receive the grades they’re expecting, the Education Hub blog contains helpful advice for potential next steps.
