Voters, who took to the polls on 4th July, once again showed their support for Liberal Democrat Wera Hobhouse, re-electing her for the third time in a row as the Member of Parliament for Bath.

Wera Hobhouse was delighted to be re-elected as the MP for Bath on Thursday and is keen to continue representing her constituents’ voices in Parliament. Much of Mrs Hobhouse’s election campaign focused on her tireless work as a local champion for Bath, and her success in taking Bath’s aspirations to the House of Commons and translating them into action. Upon returning to Parliament, she promised to continue her work supporting those struggling in Bath amid the cost-of-living crisis, tackling the climate emergency and boosting the NHS and public services.

The final vote count revealed that Wera Hobhouse had been re-elected with 41.3% of the vote share and 19,883 votes. In an overwhelmingly successful night for the Liberal Democrats, Mrs Hobhouse will return to Parliament this week alongside 71 other Liberal Democrat MPs.

Wera Hobhouse, Member of Parliament for Bath, commented:

“I am truly honoured to have been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Bath. It is a real privilege to represent our wonderful city and its inspiring residents. I owe a huge thank you to everyone who supported my campaign, offered warm words of encouragement and all those who came out to vote for me.

“Voters in Bath and across the country have taken this opportunity to put an end to the years of Conservative mismanagement and chaos. Now is the time to stand up for our communities, put public services and the NHS back at the heart of our nation, and accelerate the shift towards cleaner energy for a greener future.

"I am looking forward to continuing to serve Bath, championing local voices and creating national impact for our community."
