Westfield Parish Council is committed to doing what it can to protect its data from Cyber Crime.
Over the past six months we have been working with our IT Providers, soVisionIT, to gain Cyber Essentials Certification. We are happy to say that this was awarded at the end of July.
Chair of Westfield Parish Council, Cllr Phil Wilkinson said, “Data security is important for everyone. We have looked carefully at our IT system and have taken a number of measures including essential updates and installing multi factor authorisation to help protect data both in the office and for Councillors working at home”.
The Parish Council’s IT support, soVisionIT commented, “Cybersecurity is of utmost importance for Councils of all levels due to the need to protect sensitive data, including personal information and financial records. Maintaining public trust and avoiding financial losses resulting from cyber incidents are also crucial factors. Councils play a leadership role in promoting best practices, and ensuring continuity of operations is vital for continued public service delivery. We congratulate Westfield Parish Council for taking this important step to increase their resilience.”
