The Westfield Inspirational Citizen Award is for those local people who improve our sense of community.

Since 2018 the Parish Council has been finding out about those who make the lives of Westfield residents that much easier or more enjoyable.

Do you know someone in Westfield who has gone beyond what would be expected of them in their day-to-day life? Someone who, maybe, has done the shopping for vulnerable residents or collected prescriptions; someone who has made sure that their neighbours are well and not struggling to get the help or things they need; someone who maintains the environment in Westfield?

Last year, the Westfield Inspirational Citizen Award went to Rachael and Eddie Liddiard for their continuous support of the residents of St Peters Road.

To quote one nomination: ‘This unassuming, caring and selfless help comes in many forms – shopping, gardening, providing cooked meals, visiting elderly residents, listening, maintaining the commemorative planter – to name just a few.’

The award will be presented at the Annual Parish meeting, which is the meeting for the people of Westfield, in late March.
