Writhlington School is delighted to be celebrating a fantastic set of results by its students in their GCSE exams this summer.
On GCSE Results Day, August 22, it was revealed that 75% of students achieved a grade 9 - 4 in English, 71% achieved a grade 9 - 4 in Maths and 70% achieved a grade 9 - 4 in Science. Writhlington School say “outstanding results and progress” were also witnessed in Art (with almost 40% of students achieving a grade 8 or 9), Music, Business and PE.
Headteacher Keith Howard said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, we can see that they have made great progress since joining the school with many students achieving top grades in the 9 - 7 range across all subjects.
“I would like to congratulate all of our students on a brilliant set of results that shows that their hard work, determination and resilience has paid off.”
The school told that there were many exceptional performances from individual students. Among those with impressive performances achieving all top end grades in the range 9 to 7 are:

David Morris, Head of Year 11, said: “They have been an excellent year group who have done all that we have asked of them and done themselves, their parents and Writhlington School very proud.
“We’re grateful for all the parental support we’ve had in supporting them over the last 2 years. On behalf of all the staff, we wish them every success on the next stage of their journey.”
Writhlington School look forward to welcoming many Year 11 students into their Sixth Form in September and wish those that are continuing their journey at college or onto an apprenticeship the very best of luck.
