The Yeo Valley Organic Garden will be hosting a number of inspiring and influential speakers to celebrate Organic September.

Speakers include Nicola Hope, holder of RHS Master of Horticulture and Trustee of Garden Organic, Sally Morgan, Editor of Organic Farming magazine, and author David O’Carroll. Discussions will include Edimentals, Organic Gardening (of course), Bees, Gardening for Nature, and The Climate Change Garden.

September Specials will be taking place once again in the Yeo Valley Organic Garden, located in Blagdon, North Somerset, a six-and-a-half acre Soil Association certified ornamental garden that features edible plants in a seasonal patchwork that has been constantly evolving for more than 30 years ago. The garden has a strong emphasis on confident planting and quirky fun.

Sarah Mead, Head Gardener of the Yeo Valley Organic Garden and Event Organiser said “This year, we are so ecstatic to be hosting September Specials once more. In honour of Organic September, we have invited a wide range of speakers covering a feast of organic gardening topics.”

Sarah continues “We garden 100% organically and always want to showcase the joy gardening can bring to others, which is why we are hosting this event. As a nation of gardeners, we could all be a bit kinder to our green spaces and organic principles can help with this. Small changes can really make a big impact. I’m sure visitors will learn a lot from each of these sessions.”

Organic September is a key moment for organic businesses, like Yeo Valley Organic, to raise awareness of the benefits of organic supporting nature, wildlife and protecting the planet. This year’s campaign aims to raise awareness of the role farming and our food systems play. 2023 is particularly important as it marks 50 years of organic certification.

The garden shop will be open, plus the garden tearoom will be serving tea, coffee, light lunches and cakes. Tickets can be purchased from here and include garden entry.
