A Radstock resident has called on Metro Mayor Dan Norris to 'get the ball rolling and bring Norton Radstock into the 21st century', suggesting autonomous pods are introduced, in a letter to The Journal.
Bring Radstock trains to the 21st century
I see the West of England is being funded for branch lines to reopen around Portishead and more frequently trains from Yate through to Westbury.
Well what about Radstock? Once again we are left out in our area no mention by Dan Norris .
Has anyone thought about autonomous pods (pictured) instead to Frome from Norton-Radstock. Cheaper to set up than the train line and environmentally friendly. Works well in other places. Easy access for disability users as well. This would link us to Frome for onward journeys by mainline trains which we desperately need . No drivers required and no timetable as they run constantly. This would be the way forward. Works well around Heathrow airport so why not Norton Radstock?
Come on Mr Norris get the ball rolling and bring Norton radstock into the 21st century.
Yours sincerely,
Kev Latchem
