Zara Malone, sales negotiator at Bishop and Co., Midsomer Norton, will be travelling to Lesotho, Africa, in September as part of a three-month voluntary project to make a difference to some of the world's poorest communities.
She will be working alongside volunteers from both the UK and Africa, living with a local family and working in schools, clinics and community groups to help promote development and equality.
Zara says: "This journey will be a huge personal challenge for me, however, the experience, I know, will be one of a lifetime!
"Before September, I need to raise £800, which does not go towards my Government-funded placement. It goes directly to the charity, so that they can continue their amazing work around the world.
"On my return, I will then be using the skills I have learnt to help with local development in the area and will return to Bishop and Co. with a good understanding and involvement in our community.
"I have been taking part in various activities to raise the money and would love to hear any ideas people may have.
"Recently, I cooked a three-course meal for my colleagues to raise some funds, which was interesting, as I struggle to cook fishfingers for myself!"
Zara will also be climbing Snowdon before she leaves in September to further help her cause.
