Radstock in Bloom's Chairman has responded to a letter written in to a previous edition of The Journal (issue no. 2198), dated 13th September 2023, criticising Radstock's untidiness.
“
In response to Mr Brailsford letter 13th September “Keep Radstock Tidy”.
We would welcome Mr Brailsford on to the in-Bloom team, we need people with a can-do attitude and someone that’s not afraid to “Roll up their sleeves up”. We accept Volunteers of ages 18+ and all abilities.
In Bloom time tends to run all year round, however after judging which is normally around Mid-July our volunteers like to enjoy some family time and perhaps even take a holiday. Maybe to Dawlish or even a day trip to Shepton Mallet.
Our next meeting is the 9th of October, one week after the results of the Southwest in bloom competition, After winning the Ayre Cup for the best small town in the south west in 2022. We have been automatically entered into the Champions League of In Bloom for 2023. We look forward to seeing how we compete against the very best towns and cities in the southwest.
On the 20th of October we will hold our own presentation which will take place at Trinty Church, Radstock. Where we celebrate not only our achievements but those of groups and individuals in our neighbourhood of Radstock.
We are very proud of Radstock and our achievements. I would once again like to thank our Traders, Groups, Individuals and Town Council for their support in 2023.
Sean Fletcher, Chairman of Radstock in Bloom
