One local resident has joined in the discussion surrounding B&NES Council's grass cutting policy, suggesting a petition should be started as the area looks like a "slum".
“
Cliff Shellard, I totally agree with you about the grass cutting.
We had a meeting out on our green at The Leaze and they said it was for wildlife, when I said we have fields one hundred yards away, they said but it’s Council policy now to cut the grass only two-three times a year. But, they will cut around the edges to keep it tidy now the weeds and flowers are six to seven feet tall, it looks disgusting and a slum.
I have lived here for forty years and never seen it so awful.
We have to look at it every day, they obviously don’t.
Let’s start a petition.
