PRATTENS Bowls Club have played a majority of their competition finals, in between rain and getting the green dry enough for play.
The winners of the pairs competition were Alan Fear and Sue Stoppard with Chris Love and Wendy Sykes being the runners up.
The Ladies singles winner was Shirley Garside beating Pauline Dando in the final. Alan Fear also won the men’s singles with Chris Love winning the Keith Harrington Trophy.
Alan was not a winner in every final that he contested, losing to Gus Halfhide in the Handicap even though both of them were playing with the same handicap level and he was also beaten in the 101 competition by David James.
The other competition was the Thamas Cup where Phil Chambers beat Martin Dury who both used to play Rugby for Midsomer Norton. T
There is still one final to play this weekend with Alan Fear (again) facing Graham Whittock in the Mens 2 wood. This could not be played last weekend for medical and scheduling reasons. All of the matches attracted a good number of spectators (most of whom were Prattens members).
