Fosseway bowlers have had a very quiet week this week. The first game was the Ladies, who played a North Somerset League game at Keynsham. We struggled to get a team and lost on all rinks.
Again, on Friday, we were unable to field a team, so had to concede the Fear Cup to Chew Stoke, this means that we are unable to enter in the Fear Plate.
The men played at home on Wednesday, in a Mid-Somerset League game against Frome Selwood, and managed to win on only one rink, so got two points.
On Saturday, the men played against Bloomfield C, at home, in the County League. The Vice-Captain reported that although some of the more experienced members were welcomed back, we lost so many more who were unavailable to play.
Fosseway managed to draw on one rink, with a magnificent fighting three on the last end. So, it was one point to Fosseway and eleven to Bloomfield.
Doug would like to thank Della and Sue Burke, who ran the kitchen and bar. Let’s hope next week will be better for both Ladies and Men.
Don’t forget our Club night on Mondays; come along and see for yourself what bowls is all about.
