Prattens’ Ladies continued their progress in the Wild League when they played Frome Park.
Prattens won on two rinks, lost on one and won overall, 48 shots to 45, which gained Prattens ten league points. In the first round of the Top Club, despite winning one discipline, the Ladies lost to Ashcombe Park from Weston-super-Mare. In the second round of the Southey Trophy, the Ladies played Purnell, and again, despite winning one discipline, Prattens lost overall. Well done to all the teams this week in some very difficult games.
Prattens’ Men also played the first round of the Top Club against Victoria (Weston-super-Mare). In a very close game overall, Prattens lost by four shots. In the Mid-Somerset League against Fosseway, Prattens won on all four rinks, gaining all sixteen League points. In the Mid-Somerset League against Purnell B, Prattens won on one rink, lost on two and lost overall, gaining two League points.
Members from Prattens are very active in County League games and competitions. In particular, two of our Ladies, Pauline Dando and Chris Love, have reached the Quarter-Finals of the County Pairs
competition.
In the coming week, Prattens Ladies play Street and Frome Selwood in the Wild League, Prattens’ Men play Purnell in the Mid-Somerset League, and there is a Mixed Mid-Somerset League game against Frome Park and a mixed friendly against Broughton Gifford. This week also sees the second round of our club pairs competition.
