In the first of their two Wild League games this week, Prattens’ Ladies played Paulton. Prattens won on one rink, drew on one and lost on one, winning overall by 57 shots to 43, gaining 9 of the 12 League points.
In the second game, the Ladies played Norwest; Prattens won on two rinks, lost on one, and won overall by 56 shots to 32. After this game, both teams thoroughly enjoyed cakes provided by Lin Brimble and Sue Smart, following their successful charity Afternoon Tea.
Prattens’ Men played the second round of the Turnbull Cup at Keynsham, but unfortunately lost and so do not progress further in this Competition. In the Somerset County League, the Men were at home to Imperial. Prattens lost on two rinks, won on one and lost overall, so gaining two League points. Stothert & Pitt cancelled the friendly game which was due to be played on Sunday at Prattens.
In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies play at Purnell, in the Wild League. The next round of the Fear Plate was also due to be played this week, but Prattens have received a Bye into the Quarter Final, to be played on 2nd August.
Prattens’ Men are away at Frome Selwood, in the Mid-Somerset League, and are also away to Knowle A, in the Somerset County League. Everyone is looking forward to the annual Bowls Away Day, on Sunday, when we will be returning to Dawlish, which is a lovely venue.
